Missy Clarkson is a bisectional Soprano who has been breathing choral music since her early days of study in Minneapolis, MN. At age 15 she was already steeped in harmony as a founding member of a madrigal ensemble that became an institution of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. She studied voice and piano at Capilano University, and has performed with the Vancouver Bach Choir, Sydney University Musical Society, Early Music Vancouver, and Laudate Singers. She currently sings with the award-winning Vancouver Cantata Singers.
An organizer at heart, Missy is committed to a collaborative and multi-disciplinary approach to community, fundraising and the arts. Since 2009 she has served on the board of the Vancouver Cantata Singers, and has been a key member in organizing their successful annual gala fundraiser in conjunction with ICORD and UBC. She is a tireless choral advocate over social media, and created the “hit” viral video for VCS, Shit Choristers Say, which propelled her into some strange level of nerd stardom for about 10 minutes. She has been thrilled to combine her experiences in the worlds of singing, web media, business, and fashion to create and run Cor Flammae since 2014.
