Guest Conductor 2016

Mark Reid is Arts Education Coordinator at the British Columbia Ministry of Education. He is the former Director of Bands & Choirs at Vancouver Technical Secondary School, 2013 MusiCounts Teacher of the Year, and a Finalist for the 2015 Global Teacher Prize. Mark holds degrees from VanderCook College of Music (MMEd) and the University of Victoria (BMus). A career volunteer, he serves as Past-President of the Canadian Music Educators’ Association, Secretary of the Coalition for Music Education in Canada, and as a member of Phi Beta Mu and the Program Advisory Council for music at Vancouver Community College. Mark is a charter member of the Varkey Teacher Ambassadors. He has lectured at the University of British Columbia and Brandon University, is published by Tempo Press and Grand Mesa Music, and is an invited presenter the Disney Performing Arts Educators Summit: Inspiring Brilliance.
