A native of the San Francisco Bay area, Javier loves living here in Vancouver. Music, specifically singing and performing, has been at the core of his being since he was a little child. His passion for singing, both solo and choral, has been evident in his experiences thus far and during his studies at both the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the University of British Columbia. He has had the pleasure of singing under the batons of Sanford Dole (Bay Choral Guild), Joseph Jennings (Golden Gate Men’s Chorus), Diane Loomer (Chor Leoni), Bruce Pullan (Vancouver Bach Choir as a soloist in Handel’s Messiah), and Bramwell Tovey (VSO Traditional Christmas Concerts, UBC Opera Chorus). Javier has performed various Musical Theatre and Opera Roles. Most notable are “the Baker” in Into the Woods, “Perchik” in Fiddler on the Roof, “Bob” in The Old Maid and the Thief, “Betto” in Gianni Schicchi, “Colonel Wolsley" and “Poundmaker" in Louis Riel, and “David” in A Hand of Bridge. Javier is incredibly excited to be joining Cor Flammae this season!
