In 2006, soprano Catherine Laub moved to Vancouver from New York and has since become an integral part of the city’s musical life as a performer, educator, composer, and arts administrator. As co-director of the Erato Ensemble from 2006-2013, she championed modern Canadian chamber music and innovative programming. Catherine is also a member of the a cappella trio, Kallisto, the Vancouver Chamber Choir, and the Windsong Trio. She and her partner, pianist Rita Attrot, specialize in chamber music and German and French art song.
Catherine has been a featured artist with the Queer Arts Festival several times and has volunteered at Qmunity and for Prideline. Between 2007-2008, she founded and ran WGroup, a social resource and networking group for queer women new to Vancouver. Catherine has also played softball as a member of the Mabel League and WESA, and yes, she has lived on The Drive.
